Green Mountain Passports

The Green Mountain Pass is discount program for seniors and veterans.

The Passport allows free admission to Vermont State Parks (excluding overnight camping and other park fees), Vermont State Historic Sites, and events which are fully State sponsored.

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Waterbury and 62 years of age or more, or a veteran of the uniformed forces.

Where can we get a marriage license?

Licenses are only issued by Vermont Town Clerks. If both parties are Vermont residents, you may go to any Town Clerk’s office in Vermont.

Fill out the wedding worksheet and drop off or email the Town Clerk’s office. Once the worksheet is received, the Town Clerk will fill out the license form and contact you to issue the license. One of the applicants must come to the Town Office, pay the $80 license fee, and sign in order to receive the license. By law, the license must be delivered to the person who will conduct the wedding ceremony, before the marriage can be performed. The license is valid for 60 days from the date it is issued. During that time period, an authorized person must perform your wedding ceremony (otherwise, the license is void).

After the ceremony, the person who performs the ceremony (officiant) will complete the sections concerning the date, place and officiant information, and sign the license. The officiant must return the license to the Town Clerk’s office where it was issued within 10 days after the wedding so that your marriage can be officially recorded as a marriage certificate. Once recorded, we can offer a certified copy of the marriage certificate for an additional $10.

Visit Town of Craftsbury’s wedding page for more information.
